LENTEN PROJECT - 2/24/2010
Catholic Central High School
2010 Lenten Project
This year Catholic Central has chosen Immaculee Ilibagiza’s charity Left to Tell Charitable Fund for its Lenten Project. This organization helps all those who are/were devastated by genocide and war. The Left to Tell Charitable Fund has recently begun to help build a school in Kibeho, Rwanda.
One way that Catholic Central is going to help the students is by helping to build their soccer field and helping supply some equipment. Since many of us have played soccer at one time or another, we thought it might be good to earmark the money for the soccer field and equipment. Soccer seems to be a ‘universal’ language that many children understand.
What can YOU do? What should WE do?
The three parts of lent are: Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving
Pray for the people in war-torn countries
Fast to help yourself remember that there are people today who will not eat
Give money (almsgiving) to help bring all kinds of supplies to people
If every person at CC gave $5 … (Can you go without pop for a week? Can you go without candy for a week? Could you do something extra to earn money? Could you give some of your allowance?) We could raise over $3500 to send to the LEFT TO TELL CHARITABLE FUND
This is NOT a competition, but let’s encourage each other to help. Collections will be taken up during 5th hour

If you are graduating from high school in 2010 or you’re already in college, you need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Why? If you don’t, you could lose out on thousands of dollars for college. Don’t let that happen! We’re here to help!
